Prilep, Bitola & Krushevo

We start from Prilep and visit Markovi Kuli. Then Treskavec monastery and from there we go to Bitola where we visit the Heraclea Museum and the famous Shirok Sokak. From there to Krushevo, where the Mechkin Stone is visited, then the Macedonia monument, the famous museum of Toše Proeski, the Holy Mother of God. Finally, we return to Skopje.

  2. The oldest remains on the site from the Hellenistic period, followed by Byzantine remains from the 5th and 6th centuries. Slavic settlement dates from the late 10th century.During the four-decade archaeological research, remnants indicating the existence of an early antique settlement — Keramija, were found. In the Roman period, this small village expanded into the southwest, a fact suggested by the several marble ornaments of an early Christian basilica.
  3. The Heraclea Museum in Bitola is a fascinating archaeological site that showcases the ancient city of Heraclea Lyncestis, featuring well-preserved ruins of ancient buildings, intricate mosaics, and artifacts that offer insight into the region’s Roman and Hellenistic past.
  4. Meckin Kamen, also known as “Bear’s Stone,” is a notable landmark located near the village of Makedonski Brod in North Macedonia. It is a large rock formation that resembles the shape of a bear and holds cultural and historical significance, often associated with local folklore and legends. The site offers beautiful natural surroundings and attracts visitors interested in exploring its unique geological features.
  5. The Tose Proeski Memorial House is a tribute to the late Macedonian singer Tose Proeski, located in his hometown of Krusevo, North Macedonia. It is a museum that showcases Tose Proeski’s life, achievements, and contributions to the music industry, allowing fans and visitors to remember and honor his legacy through various exhibits and displays.
